The Rise and Fall of the City of Mahagonny

An opera by Kurt Weill following the tale of 3 criminals that set up a town with the sole purpose of making money. The play shows the follies of capitalism and greed.

Keeping my designs within the time period, I set it in an industrial building yard, with the set being built haphazardly from scaffolding, some of which are gaudy neon lights to give the illusion of brightness and sparkle, while actually being cheap and brash.
